Jennifer Lawrence talks about her now infamous "I beat Meryl" quote!

"I beat Meryl" was the quote the Hunger Games star said after accepting her Golden Globe for Best Actress in "Silver Linings Playbook."

The 22 year old quickly had to defend herself after numerous people, including Lindsay Lohan (doesn't she have enough problems of her own?) took to Twitter to criticize Lawrence's comment.

The bombshell appeared on Letterman and talked to Dave about her acceptance speech.

"It was a quote from First Wives Club. I wanted to make a public statement saying 'you idiots, it was a quote.'"

We're so glad she cleared that up! She's such a talented actress! She went on to say that she sees her career following the likes of Meryl and Jodie Foster.

There's no bad blood between Jennifer or Meryl, and we're sure Meryl didn't think twice about it.
