Horror movie fans.. get ready! "Carrie" now hits screens October 18th!

Official movie poster for "Carrie"

Kimberly Peirce’s remake of Carrie, starring Chloë Grace Moretz as the bloody and bullied telekinetic teen, has been moved out of the prom season and into the Halloween season. The film that was wrapped last September was originally slated for release on March 15th, but the MGM/Screen Gems production has been pushed back seven months to October 18th to better capitalize on the pre-holiday horror season. That gives it a week’s head-start on the other major horror release, the now-annual shaky-cam spookery of Paranormal Activity 5.

Carrie co-stars Julianne Moore as Margaret White (originally played by Piper Laurie in Brian De Palma’s 1976 adaptation of the Stephen King novel) which means that Moore will have two titles releasing Oct. 18th, the other being the historical fantasy film The Seventh Son. It also means a full trailer probably won’t be appearing anytime soon, but a following teaser debuted at the New York Comic Con a few months ago and promises plenty of vengeful carnage.

Watch the teaser below:

We can't wait for October now! Time to get our Carrie on!
